| Purpose |

 The
Language Center is set up to utilize modern AV equipment
to achieve a better teaching environment, to stimulate
students' interest in learning, to provide access
to the latest resources, to furnish continuing education
for the Kaohsiung community and to develop overseas
language programs promoting international cultural
exchange.
The resourceful library is structured to suit the
need of technology period. "International Encyclopedia",
" 'Technical Global Internet", "CD-Rom
Medical Index Research" , "Global Medical
Website" are all available in the library.
With the complete and efficient medical information
highway, KMU library is one of the top Library Technology
Centers in the country. |

The Language Center was established on June 5,1991.
It is located on the third floor of the Chi-Shih
Building. The Language Center is made up with two
states of the art language laboratories, a source
and self-instruction room, and a conference room.
The center is open to all students', faculty and
staff of the Kaohsiung Medical College and Hospital
complex. |

The Language Laboratories |
| |
The two laboratories are located at CS308,
and CS309, which are fully equipped with the
JVC LL-9700 systems that can hold the maximum
occupancy of 64 students each. The multimedia
system is fully integrates with projector,
Digital presenter, DVD player, VCR…etc to
provide for the students. In addition, not
only does the two labs can provide a perfect
place for instruction but also will be a testing
center for General English Proficiency Test
and TOFEL. |

Resource and Self-instruction Room |

This room is furnished with 14 audiovisual
seats with a collections of language books,
audiocassettes, and videotapes for independent
study. |

Mini-classroom |
| |
Equipped with a projector, DVD player, Laser
Disc player and a white board for presentations,
this classroom is designed for small group
meetings and discussions. |
