Requirements for Admission
(Undergraduate and Graduate Student)
1. In order to enter all schools except the post-baccalaureate education program on our campus, graduates from public or accredited private senior high schools are required to take the University Joint Entrance Examination (UJEE) given by the UJEE Committee which is approved by the Ministry of Education eah year. About 10-20% of the first year college students will be recommended by their senior high sclools and further be selected by Kaohsiung Medical University..
The UJEE includes following subjects:
(A) Three People's Principles (B) Chinese (C) English (D) Biology (E) Chemistry (F) Mathe-matics (G) Physics.
Students of Night School of Nursing are required to take the entrance examination given by our college and the subjects are same as the above.
2. Post-baccalaureate medical students have been selected by a entrance examination organized by our college. The applicants must fulfill the following conditions:
 
(1) Citizen of Republic of China.
(2) The military service is Nas completed or is exempt from.
(3) Graduate from public or accredited private universities and colleges.
(4) The entrance examination tests include the following subjects:
  (A) Chinese (B) English (C) Calculus (D) General Physics (E) General Biology (F) Chemistry (including AnalyticalChemistry & Organic Chemistry).
3. Overseas and forgeign students should file an application with the Ministry of Education.
4. Students from public or accredited private universities and colleges are eligible to take the Private Medical College's Joint Transfer Examination for admission to this college of other private medical colleges.

Each successful candidate may be admitted to the appropriate year according to his/her previous academic standing.
5. To get into the graduate institutes of KMU for master degree, students have to take the selection examination or the entrance examination given by the graduate institutes and, for Ph.D. degrees, passing the entrance examination given by KMU is required.
6. There are ten graduate institutes in KMU including the Graduate Institute of Medicine (for Ph.D. & M.S. Degrees), the Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences (for Ph.D. & M.S. Degrees), the Graduate Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (for Ph.D. & M.S. Degrees), the Graduate Institute of Public Health (for Master degree), the Graduate Institute of Nursing (for Master degree), the Graduate Institute of Oral Health Sciences (for Master degree), the Graduate Institute of Natural Products (for Master degree), the Graduate Institute of Behavioral Sciences (for Master degree), the Graduate Institute of Biochemistry (for Master degree) and the Graduate Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (for Master degree).
7. The goal of each graduate institute program is to enhance our student's research ability and practical applications. Graduate students will need one to four years for M.S. degree and two to seven years for Ph.D. degree to finish total credits respectively. In addition to the required courses, students must write a thesis and pass an oral examination in order to attain their Master's and Ph.D. degree.
